Role Summary

Crawford Memorial Hospital is seeking a highly skilled MRI Imaging Specialist to join our Radiology team.

The successful candidate will possess a strong background in Radiographic Imaging procedures and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of $65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnostic Imaging Procedures

    The MRI Imaging Specialist will be responsible for performing a range of diagnostic imaging procedures on ambulatory and hospital patients in a physician office, clinic, and/or hospital setting, as requested by a Physician or other licensed Provider.

    They will ensure that patients are comfortable and at ease during the exam and provide excellent care while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist.

  • Test Administration and Quality Control

    The successful candidate will accurately order tests from outpatient orders, fax reports (EMR and manual), and scan orders and reports.

    They will also be responsible for ensuring correct patient identity using two patient identifiers and performing tests within standardized time frames.

    Additionally, they will check the majority of images for technical quality prior to releasing the patient and place files with other required paperwork.

  • Patient Communication and Education

    The MRI Imaging Specialist will be required to explain the test/procedure to patients and/or family members, ensuring they have a basic understanding of the procedure to alleviate fears and apprehension.

    They will also be responsible for showing a willingness to answer questions, giving patients full and undivided attention while in their presence, and demonstrating a sense of caring.

  • Regulatory Compliance and Equipment Maintenance

    The successful candidate will be responsible for performing required QC and maintaining all documentation in accordance with IEMA regulations and other regulatory requirements.

    They will also ensure safe and up-to-date working knowledge of all imaging equipment, follow standard precautions, and use equipment safely and appropriately.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Education and Certification

    A current professional licensure/certification is required for this role.

    The MRI Imaging Specialist must hold a current ARRT (R) certification, as well as a current ARRT (CT)(MRI) certification and a current IEMA Radiography certification.

    A BLS certification is also required.

  • Experience and Skills

    The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in Radiography and CT scanning, with a preference for those with MRI experience.

    They will also require strong computer skills, with the ability to navigate EMR programs effectively.
