Job Summary

The Radiologic Technologist, Correctional Facility, is responsible for instructing and preparing patients for radiologic examinations and taking x-rays for various body structures. The successful candidate will maintain equipment and quarters, keep records and files, and may supervise inmate-workers and the conduct of patients in treatment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Possession of a current valid certificate as a certified Radiologic Technologist in diagnostic radiologic technology issued by the California State Department of Health Services.
  • Either two years of experience, including training in radiologic techniques and methods, under an accredited medical radiologist, or successful completion of a two-year training program in radiologic technology approved by the Council on Medical Education and Hospitals of the American Medical Association, in collaboration with the American College of Radiology.

Travel is required.

If you are meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts/diploma for verification. Official transcripts may be required upon appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
