Job Summary:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Edward M. Kennedy Community Health Center, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in various activities, including assisting patients with prescription drop-offs and pickups, verifying patient information, and accurately entering prescriptions into the computer system. You will also work closely with the pharmacy team to maintain accurate inventory levels, process rejected prescriptions, and perform other tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

Assist patients with prescription drop-offs and pickups, verifying patient information and ensuring accurate medication dispensing

Enter prescriptions into the computer system, including refills, and adjudicate through insurance

Work with the pharmacy team to maintain accurate inventory levels, including ordering medications and removing outdated items

Process rejected prescriptions through insurance and work with pharmacy benefit managers as needed

Assist the pharmacist with transferring prescriptions between pharmacies (certified pharmacy technicians only)

Update patient profile information within the designated electronic health record system

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Pharmacy Technician registration required in accordance with Massachusetts Regulations

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work a fluctuating schedule, including day, evening, and occasional Saturday shifts

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience

National Pharmacy Technician certification

Bilingual English/Spanish, English/Portuguese, or English/Other
