Quality Assurance Engineer
  • Shift/Hours: Monday - Friday - 7:30am-4:00pm
  • Salary: Competitive Compensation
OVERVIEW:Responsible for evaluating products and documentation to ensure compliance with relevant customer, regulatory, military, and industry standards. Develops and executes Quality plans necessary for new program initiatives. Assesses new customer specifications and conducts both internal and external audits. Aids in the Corrective/Preventative Action process and analyzes data to inform decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose issues both internally and those reported by clients, including field returns, through thorough investigation and corrective measures. Supports the Corrective/Preventative Action process.
  • Examine data to pinpoint trends and opportunities for enhancements.
  • Perform internal and external audits to ensure adherence to established procedures and specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients and source inspectors as per contractual obligations for necessary data analysis, audits, inspections, and testing related to product deliveries.
  • Align Quality plans with Engineering and Program Management for proposals as required for potential contracts.
  • Assist in the revision and enhancement of inspection programs, checklists, procedures, and policies to support ISO 9000, AS 9100, ISO 14000, and customer specifications.
  • Engage in a collaborative environment with various departments within the organization. Interact with Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Program Management, and Human Resources. Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control are preferred.
  • Certification as a Quality Engineer is desirable (or willingness to obtain certification within 2 years).
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to convey technical issues effectively through written, verbal, and presentation formats.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities essential for teamwork across various disciplines within the organization.
  • Lean/Six Sigma training is a plus.
  • Familiarity with the aerospace/defense industry and products is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to engage with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Direct interaction with clients, vendors, suppliers, source inspectors, regulatory representatives, and all relevant inter-department personnel.
