The MRI Technologist is a vital member of our healthcare team, responsible for providing compassionate and high-quality patient care while performing MRI examinations under the direction of a physician. This role requires a strong understanding of the principles and physics of magnetic resonance imaging, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain high-quality images used by physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of various pathologies.
- Select appropriate imaging techniques and protocols to complete the exam, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
- Receive patients, explain the examination process, and position them for the MRI scan, performing IV puncture and administering IV contrast agent when necessary.
- Independently perform and complete routine examinations, meeting the needs of patients, families, and the multi-disciplinary team through effective communication, coordination, and documentation.
- Actively participate in quality initiatives to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction, patient care, and workflow efficiencies.
- Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or one year of minimum related experience and/or training.
- Current ARRT (R) (MR) or NMTCB registry.
- Current BLS certification endorsed by the American Heart Association.
- Ability to interact with people of all ages.
- At least one year of experience as a MRI Technologist in a hospital environment, highly preferred.
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment, and walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment.
