Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our team at North Carolina A&T State University. The successful candidate will support research efforts in the Integrated Pest Management Program, focusing on plant-insect interactions, pollination ecology, and climate change impacts on sustainable food production.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct laboratory, greenhouse, and field experiments to investigate the ecology and management of pollinators and insect pests.
  • Analyze and interpret data, reporting research findings from laboratory, greenhouse, and field studies.
  • Exercise independent scientific judgment and original thinking in carrying out research that contributes to knowledge and advances the University's reputation in research.
  • Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and assist in writing proposals for external funding.
  • Supervise project staff, graduate, and undergraduate students, and train students and personnel in the lab on insect rearing and other duties as assigned.
About the Program

The Integrated Pest Management Program at NC A&T State University is based in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. The program conducts fundamental and applied research toward the development of farmer-friendly, ecologically sound pest management technology for the efficient and safe production of vegetables and fruit by small growers.

Requirements
  • Ph.D. in entomology, ecology, or a related discipline.
  • Research experience in integrated pest management, insect ecology, experimental design, and statistical analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license for field work.
