About the Position:

We are seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at Lane Education Service District. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will design and implement appropriate language and communication programs for eligible students, including training of classroom staff.

Job Description:

  • Assessment and Intervention: Complete formal and informal assessment of student's speech, language, and communication needs. Design and implement speech/language communication programs for students as needed in school, home and community environments.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and IEP meetings as necessary to determine appropriate communication interventions and Individual Education Programs. Provide consultation and training to staff related to the implementation of student's speech language communication programs, including data collection.
  • Augmentative Communication: Assist staff in the assessment of students to determine specific augmentative communication components, strategies and techniques. Assist in the development, acquisition, and programming of augmentative communication language systems and program materials as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Certifications and Licenses: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology/Communication Disorders. Oregon teaching license with Speech Impaired or Communications Disorder Endorsement and/or a State of Oregon Speech-Language Pathology License. ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-Speech) preferred.
  • Experience: Experience working with students having moderate and severe disabilities preferred. Experience with low and high tech augmentative communication systems preferred.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to work harmoniously with others and to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with students, parents and staff. Ability to maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and/or parent information.
