About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team at Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting our surgical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare operating rooms and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary supplies and instruments are available.
  • Assist surgeons and other medical staff during procedures, maintaining a sterile environment and handling instruments and equipment as needed.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of patient information, surgical procedures, and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and technologies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) required.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a surgical setting, preferably in an academic or teaching hospital environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information with discretion.
