Job Summary

Sonepar Vallen USA is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Warehouse Associate to join our team. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of inventory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Unload and receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against invoices and reporting any discrepancies.
  • Accurately sort, label, and store inventory, utilizing a predetermined sequence to optimize storage space.
  • Issue inventory to site employees, maintaining accurate records of issued and returned items.
  • Enter data into our database to maintain up-to-date stock records, and retrieve stored information to respond to inquiries.
  • Request requisitions to replenish inventory, and assist with inventory level maintenance through cycle counts and report preparation.
  • Inspect and measure tools/equipment for defects, wear, and tear, reporting damage or wear to supervisors.
  • Deliver tools or equipment to associate work locations, and investigate and locate lost or misplaced equipment or safety supplies.
  • Perform other related duties as requested by management.
Requirements
  • 3+ months of relevant experience and/or training, with a high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Relevant experience and/or aptitude in loading, unloading, picking, packing, or moving goods in a warehouse environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work orders, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic computer knowledge and proficiency, with preferred technical skills including MS-Office products, Vista, Control, SX.e, and Prophet 21.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and be self-motivated to accomplish assigned tasks and goals.
  • Demonstration of attention to detail and a safety-minded approach.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role may require wearing various forms of protective equipment, passing warehouse equipment certifications, and working extended day, evening, and weekend shifts. The ability to lift up to 25 lbs or greater with assistance is required, as well as the ability to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
