Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist II to join our team at NorthShore University HealthSystem. As a CT Technologist II, you will be responsible for performing all Computed Tomography (CT) examinations on patients as requested by referring physicians.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate a commitment to the mission of Swedish Hospital and adhere to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.
  • Check patient charts for needed exams and tests.
  • Follow department protocol for preparation of exams that requires oral and intra-venous contrast materials.
  • Prepare patient for exams and transfer patient to CT scan table.
  • Accurately perform all CT scan examinations on all patients per radiologist protocol.
  • Document all patient histories and lab results for radiologist interpretation.
  • Scan all documents into PACS. Check PACS after exam is completed.
  • Assist in scheduling and related clerical duties.
  • Responsible for maintaining and approving radiation protection and safety as it relates to patients, staff and equipment.
  • Clean and maintain room/equipment.
  • Stocks linen and supplies as needed.
  • Perform any QA or phantom testing as required.
  • Pursue continuing education in professional practice.
  • Perform emergency call as needed.
  • Adhere to all OSHA and Infection Control policies.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate from Accredited Radiology Program or Associate in Applied Science.
  • Registered Radiologic Technologist.
  • ARRT RT and IEMALicensure required. If crossed trained into CT you have 1 year to pass the ARRT CT registry.
  • Current CPR certification with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required.
  • Good communication and organization skills are required.
  • Knowledge of CT procedures and cross section anatomy.
  • Ability to perform all CT examinations.
