Job Title: Education and Disabilities Manager

Join Urban Strategies LLC as an Education and Disabilities Manager and play a vital role in shaping the future of early childhood education and child development services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the provision of high-quality education and child development services for infants and toddlers, with a focus on meeting the unique needs of dual language learners, homeless children, children in foster care, and children with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive system of education and child development services that aligns with the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework and the Texas Early Learning Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the EHS Director to select curricula, supplementary instructional materials, and furniture to equip each classroom as appropriate for infants and/or toddlers.
  • Assure that the curriculum is content-rich, follows a scope and sequence, and is research-based.
  • Guide and monitor the implementation of a coaching approach for all teachers.
  • Monitor/Observe classrooms and teachers to assure high-quality teaching practices are implemented for all infants and toddlers.
  • Provide training to all staff on individualization for each child, observation and record-keeping techniques, Child Abuse/Neglect and reporting, home visiting and parent-teacher conference techniques, lesson planning, and the referral process.
  • Ensure that classrooms and learning plans are culturally and linguistically appropriate for all children, including dual language learners, homeless children, children in foster care, and children with disabilities.
  • Develop a plan for the engagement of parents, as first teachers, in the education and development of their children.
  • Support teachers and maintain documentation on the accomplishments in achieving their individual educational goals, Child Development Associate certificate, Associate of Arts Degree, and bachelor's degree in early childhood education.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Knowledgeable in all regulations pertaining to IDEA and 504 Rehabilitation Act.
  • Two years or more of teaching and supervising experience in a similar position.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of backgrounds.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated writing ability and conducting professional development.
  • Competency in using computer hardware and software to effectively maintain education services records, communication, reports, and conduct presentations.
  • Valid Driver's License, Personal Vehicle, and Liability Insurance required.
