Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Engineer of Radiological Operations to join our team at the Naval Nuclear Laboratory. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing engineering controls, work procedures, and supporting documents necessary for performing work on, testing of, or handling radioactive and/or nuclear material.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement engineering controls, work procedures, and supporting documents for radiological operations
  • Provide engineering support to ensure compliance with engineered work products, including updates or changes needed for work execution procedures
  • Develop engineered drawings, sketches, containment design, ESH controls, and lifting and handling diagrams to support unique and complex projects
  • May develop plans and reports and perform environmental characterization and investigation activities pursuant to local and federal regulatory programs

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science-related field
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Internship experience preferred
