Senior Software Developer

As a Senior Software Developer at Microsoft Corporation, you will be responsible for developing and testing computer software applications, systems, or services. Your expertise in software development will be utilized to conduct research and lead research collaborations that yield new insights, theories, and analyses. You will evaluate data, algorithms, and prototypes that advance state-of-the-art technology. Your role will also involve developing reports, dashboards, tabular models, and analytical insights to drive business success. Additionally, you will produce business intelligence (BI) information by querying data repositories and generating periodic reports. You will devise methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources. Your responsibilities will also include designing and building BI solutions that improve Microsoft products. You will analyze data using a variety of tools and data analysis techniques. You will present findings and recommendations to stakeholders. Furthermore, you will document and share best practices for BI and reporting, and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact of Microsoft products. This role requires a Master's or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Systems, Physics, or a related field. You should have 12 months of software development experience formulating and analyzing software requirements. You should also have education or experience in Algorithms, Automated Testing Tools, Coordinating program development of computer software applications/systems/services from design through product release, Data Structures, Java, Managing software or business processes for operations, systems, projects, tools, or policies, and SQL and/or T-SQL. The offered base pay range for this specific position in Redmond, WA, is $137,000 to $167,000 per year. Microsoft has different base pay ranges for different work locations within the United States, which allows us to pay employees competitively and consistently in different geographic markets. Individual base pay depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time. At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus, and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee's role. Benefits/perks listed may vary depending on the nature of employment with Microsoft and the country work location. U.S.-based employees have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits, among others. U.S.-based employees also receive, per calendar year, up to 10 scheduled paid holidays, and up to 80 hours Holistic Health Time Off. Additionally, hourly/non-exempt employees accrue up to 120 hours paid vacation time, and salaried/exempt employees have Discretionary Time Off (DTO).
