Railcar Cleaner

The Railcar Cleaner is responsible for ensuring the interior of railcars is clean and free of contaminants. This involves using various cleaning systems and equipment to meet FRA, AAR, customer, and Rescar requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough inspections of railcars to verify cleanliness and product type.
• Operate cleaning equipment and mobile units to customer sites to perform cleaning services.
• Remove product from railcars using bottom outlet valves and perform interior dig outs.
• Clean the interior of railcars and components using interior blast, steaming, orbital wash, chemical/detergent, vapor scrubbing, and dig out systems.
• Inspect railcars after cleaning for rust identification and interior lining condition.
• Follow and enforce safety rules, wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent, preferred.
• College Degree, preferred.
• 0-2 years railcar cleaning experience or related field work experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. without assistance and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
• Ability to work in various temperatures indoors and in outdoor weather.
• Ability to travel up to 20% out-of-state.
