Job Summary

The Department of Parks & Recreation is seeking a highly skilled Park Maintenance Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of our parks and facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform facility housekeeping duties, including cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, showers, and other facilities.
  • Dispose of refuse and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of inventory of housekeeping supplies.
  • Lead a team of Maintenance Aide (Seasonal) employees.
  • Assist in facility maintenance projects, including repairs and renovations.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of vehicles, equipment, and tools used in maintenance and housekeeping operations.
  • Perform semi-skilled maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Valid Class C driver's license.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
Working Conditions
  • Typical work activities involve frequent periods of bending, stooping, and lifting.
  • Perform indoor and outdoor work often in inclement weather.
  • May have extensive exposure to dirt, dust, fumes, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • May work in remote locations.
  • May work at various locations throughout the state; work weekends, holidays, and at odd or irregular hours.
Special Requirements
  • Background Investigation clearance prior to being hired.
  • Medical Clearance prior to being hired.
