Nurse Anesthetist

The Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist (GRNA) is a critical role at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC) and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital (LLUCH). This position is designed to support new graduates as they transition into the role of a competent, successful Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Under the supervision of a CRNA or anesthesiologist, the GRNA provides comprehensive anesthesia care, including general anesthesia, procedure-related sedation, and regional techniques. The GRNA determines age-specific anesthesia plans prior to induction, communicates effectively throughout the anesthetic episode, and applies theoretical concepts to clinical practice.
The ideal candidate will have graduated from an accredited School of Nursing and an accredited School of Nurse Anesthesia. Clinical experience providing anesthesia care as a CRNA or student nurse anesthetist within the last twelve months is preferred. The successful candidate will be able to read, write legibly, speak in English (and Spanish preferred) with professional quality, and use computer and software programs necessary to the position.
The GRNA will work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure, lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate with others. The successful candidate will be able to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone, think critically, work independently with minimal supervision, and perform basic math functions.
