Overview of Responsibilities:
The CT Technologist independently conducts computed tomography (CT) examinations, employing appropriate techniques and the administration of contrast agents. Operates within their professional scope and adheres to certification and licensure standards regarding medication administration, equipment operation, and venipuncture. Manages patient workflow and oversees the activities associated with the CT scanner. Utilizes professional judgment to ensure the equipment is maintained in optimal working condition. May also perform imaging procedures in other modalities or at different locations based on departmental requirements. On-call duties may be required.
Educational Requirements:
Minimum Educational Qualification: Associate degree
Required Degree Type: Allied Health
Major Field of Study: Radiologic Technology
Preferred Educational Qualifications: N/A
Position-Specific Testing Requirements: N/A
Licensure and Certification:
CPR Certification is mandatory.
ARRT RT (R) registry is required.
CT registry is preferred.
ODH licensure is required.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Proficient understanding of cross-sectional anatomy.
Competent in Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
Skilled in Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Image Storage.
Advanced knowledge of CT computer applications.
Understanding of radiation safety protocols.
