Mental Health Aide Job Description

Job Summary:

The Mental Health Aide will work closely with content area coordinators, school districts, and mental health professionals to provide support to designated children with difficulty in classroom management. The ideal candidate will have a warm and supportive attitude towards young children and parents, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with designated children to develop and implement individualized behavior intervention plans
  • Collaborate with content area coordinators and school districts to ensure seamless support
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of child activities and progress
  • Communicate effectively with parents and other stakeholders to ensure consistent support

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to record data pertinent to Head Start Performance Standards
  • Warm and supportive attitude towards young children and parents
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

Working Conditions:

  • Work only when the child is present
  • May require out-of-town and overnight travel
  • Must have a valid Class C Driver's License and reliable vehicle insurance
