Key Responsibilities- Implement inspection plans and document test results
- Ensure welding team members are qualified and re-qualified as required
- Perform and document weld procedure specifications and welder operator qualification tests
- Identify and address defective or non-conforming work
- Conduct incoming material inspections and vendor inspections as needed
- Maintain quality control records, documents, and logs using electronic record keeping
- Distribute accurate drawings and redline corrections
- Maintain a focus on quality, safety, and urgency to achieve excellent production outcomes
- Verify materials and consumables meet specifications
- Verify equipment is appropriate for the work and properly calibrated
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to evaluate work
- Issue reports and track resolution of non-conforming conditions
- Perform first article, visual, and dimensional checks at all stages of production
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification
- 5+ years' experience in Quality Control with emphasis in Welding Operations
- Experience in steel fabrication or general construction
- High school diploma, general education degree, or vocational degree
- Knowledge of fixtures and weld setup parameters
- Previous experience in quality assurance
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and shop drawings
- Familiarity with AWS D1.1 weld inspection
- Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
