Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Medical Surgical Unit at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, ME. This is a full-time position with a 36-hour workweek, offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and performing various medical procedures.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies to address them.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and progress notes.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Maine.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within six months of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
Working Conditions

This position requires standing, walking, lifting, and bending for extended periods. The ideal candidate will be able to lift up to 50 pounds, navigate stairs, and work in a busy hospital environment.
