Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Transportation Specialist to join our team at Nishna Productions Inc. As a Local Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting contracts using a straight truck or van, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport contracts to various locations, adhering to safe driving practices and regulations.
  • Load and unload trucks with floor jacks and forklifts, manually lifting up to 75 lbs. to load and unload pallets and trucks.
  • Complete invoices and required paperwork for all contracts as needed.
  • Drive individuals to community work sites, always operating vehicles in a safe and law-abiding manner.
  • Complete vehicle mileage sheets and participate in vehicle maintenance and upkeep, reporting any necessary repairs or servicing to the supervisor.
  • Supervise individuals in work areas, providing training on how to complete tasks and implementing training objectives and methods for achieving them.
  • Record work produced and other production information as required.
  • Operate and oversee the operation of equipment in a safe manner, practicing established work center safety rules.
  • Know training procedures, tools, and equipment for community work contracts completed.
  • Load supplies into agency vehicles, manually lifting up to 75#.
  • Ensure incident and injury reports are completed as necessary.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vocational Training Center Supervisor, Lead Staff, Director of Day Services, and/or Executive Director.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid CDL license, considered insurable by agency carrier.
  • Ability to travel in-state and out-of-state.
  • Must not have or be a carrier of a serious infectious or communicable disease.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and more than 40 hours per week, if necessary.
  • Customer service orientation, handling situations in a professional manner.
  • Interest in working with persons with disabilities.
  • Dedication to the philosophies of the agency.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Average writing and verbal skills.
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers in an effective and courteous manner.
  • Safe work practices.
  • Participation in behavior management techniques and crisis intervention strategies.
  • Capability to assist individuals to regain balance or transfer from a sitting, standing, or prone position.
  • Uphold confidential information concerning individuals or the organization.
  • No convictions of assault, abuse, or bodily injury.
  • Participation in agency investigations, respecting confidentiality.
  • Teamwork and cooperation.
  • Compliance with Drug & Alcohol testing policies.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel from place to place to pick up and deliver products.
  • Full scheduled shift work as assigned.
  • Providing physical care to individuals as needed.
  • Physically assisting individuals to regain balance or transfer from a sitting, standing, or prone position.
  • Carrying necessary supplies to complete job functions.
  • Handling materials and equipment as needed, loading/unloading work contracts manually lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Bending over packing boxes to place products in boxes, with heights ranging from 3-31⁄2 feet.
