Position Title: Personal Care Assistant

Location: Langhorne, PA

Overview:
The Judge Group Inc. is actively seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to support special needs students in a high school environment. This role is essential in providing both behavioral and academic assistance to enhance the educational experience of students with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support special needs students by implementing effective educational strategies as directed by their case manager or behaviorist.
  • Assist with personal care tasks including feeding, toileting, and monitoring health conditions.
  • Provide instructional support to individuals or small groups in areas such as cognitive skills, motor skills, and self-help techniques.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of physically challenged students by being vigilant of their surroundings.
  • Help students maintain personal hygiene and assist with any necessary changes in clothing.
  • Monitor student behavior in line with established guidelines and provide positive reinforcement.
  • Collaborate with other specialists to support physical development activities.
  • Prepare students for inclusion in mainstream classes as per established protocols.
  • Participate in training sessions related to medical interventions and instructional methods as required.
  • Assist with the use of orthopedic equipment to aid students in mobility.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and development.
  • Implement positive behavior intervention strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with case workers, educators, and other staff members.
  • Encourage social interactions among students.
  • Perform additional duties as needed that align with the responsibilities outlined above.
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • Preferred experience in special education or behavioral health.
  • Certification in First Aid and CPR.
