Job Description:

Seven Counties Services is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Prevention Specialist to join our team. As a Prevention Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing prevention programs to promote healthy behaviors and prevent substance abuse in our community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement prevention programs for pregnant and postpartum women, including SBIRT (Screening Brief Intervention, Referral to Treatment) trainings and robust referral protocols with community partners.
  • Organize community events and trainings to promote prevention efforts and provide education on healthy behaviors.
  • Collaborate with community coalitions and stakeholders to develop and implement prevention strategies.
  • Participate in state initiatives and complete all necessary requirements.
  • Represent Seven Counties Services at various boards and committee meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough records of client files and bill for prevention services in the AVATAR system.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Health Education, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of substance use disorders, community supports, and ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Experience with public speaking and presentations.
  • Familiarity with culture, demographics, and languages of the community where the program will be implemented.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and access to reliable means of transportation.
  • Must obtain a Certified Prevention Specialist (CPS) certification within 3 years of hire.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation and public speaking.
  • Proven ability to build relationships, trust, and deepen connections with diverse people.
  • Knowledge of positive youth development strategies.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments with minimal oversight and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Travel and Special Conditions:

Region-based; regional and statewide travel is required.
