Medical Oncologist-Hospitalist Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Oncologist-Hospitalist to join our team at Emory University Hospital. As a key member of our Inpatient Medical Oncology service, you will provide direct patient care, supervise and teach advanced practice providers and trainees, and support clinical trials where applicable.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality patient care, including admissions and management of acute illnesses and complications/exacerbations of chronic illnesses.
- Supervise and teach advanced practice providers and trainees, including fellows and residents.
- Support clinical trials in the inpatient setting, collaborating with clinicians in the Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology, Winship Cancer Institute, and others across Emory University.
- Participate in outcomes research and quality initiatives, with opportunities for additional research and teaching.
Requirements:
- Expertise in inpatient management of acute illnesses and complications/exacerbations of chronic illnesses.
- Additional training/experience in Palliative Medicine or Medical Oncology is preferred.
- Passion for developing the competencies required to provide excellent care to patients with cancer through on-the-job training and learning opportunities.
