Nurse Specialist

As a Registered Nurse in the Specialty Clinic Allergy at Boys Town, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of healthcare services.
Utilizing a systematic approach to nursing practice, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered services.
Collaborating with healthcare professionals, you will prioritize patient needs, provide education, and facilitate communication to ensure seamless care transitions.
With a focus on patient safety and satisfaction, you will participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of processes to ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Provides individualized direct care to patients and families in the area of practice.
- Demonstrates age-specific competency in patient assessments, prioritizing care based on needs.
- Implements nursing care activities according to patient needs, as directed by medical providers.
- Assists providers with office procedures, including assembling supplies, medications, and instruments.
- Provides patient education, based on cultural, cognitive, emotional, and social influences, and the patient's/family ability and readiness to learn.
- Arranges additional services, such as lab, imaging, home health, speech, occupational, and physical therapy, as indicated by providers.
- Completes required documentation thoroughly, accurately, and in a timely manner.
- Participates in available educational activities to expand knowledge of assigned specialty.
- Participates actively in process improvement, quality initiatives, and development of processes to ensure compliance with regulations and accreditation requirements.
- Promotes a positive team environment, willing to float to other specialty clinics to fulfill staffing needs.
- Performs and documents telephone triage, demonstrating proficiency and critical thinking skills.
Requirements:
- Registered nurse with a current state license.
- BLS certification required.
- Prior working knowledge of using a personal computer and electronic medical records.
