Job Summary

The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain building and facility equipment. This includes performing routine maintenance tasks in one or more fields, such as carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of safety protocols and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect buildings and structures to identify functional systems and detect malfunctions
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance, including replacement or repair of fixtures and appliances
  • Perform minor plumbing maintenance, including replacement or repair of leaks and unclogging of drains
  • Perform minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work, including preparation of surfaces and application of paints and stains
  • Reconfigure, install, and remount modular offices and space to accommodate user needs
  • Prepare surfaces and paint various structures and equipment to preserve wood and metal parts from corrosion
  • Order parts and maintain required documents
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, required
  • Two years working experience in facility maintenance, preferred
  • Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, preferred
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to meet or exceed the company's attendance and punctuality standards
  • Ability to evaluate objectively, fairly, and consistently
  • Ability to use common tools and power tools
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to push minimum 100 pounds (power cleaning appliances)
  • Ability to occasionally lift minimum 50 pounds (trash and supplies)
  • Ability to climb ladder and step ladder
  • Ability to bend, sit, kneel, lay horizontally, climb, walk, etc., as job may require
Environmental Conditions
  • Extreme heat or cold, outside work in wet and/or rainy conditions
  • Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and pushing up to 100 pounds
  • Noise level which may, at times, require hearing protection in the form of ear plugs
  • Heights (working from ladders and/or scaffold)
  • Electricity
  • Lubricating fluids, cleaning solvents, batteries, etc.
  • Cleaning fluids
  • Paints and solvents
