Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Licensed Military Family Life Counselor to join our team in Gulfport, MS. As a Military Child and Youth Behavioral Counselor, you will provide confidential, non-medical counseling services to military service members and their families.

About the Job:

This is a permanent opportunity with JCS Military Support Services, Inc., where you will work closely with the affiliated Child Development Center for the Naval Construction Battalion Center. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing individual and group counseling sessions to children, youth, and families;
  • Conducting presentations on various topics such as anger management, problem-solving skills, and compassion fatigue;
  • Collaborating with CDC providers, teachers, parents, and children to address disruptive class behaviors;
  • Working with youths and teachers in classroom settings to establish needs and deliver support;
       • Developing strategies to enhance teacher and student well-being;
       • Facilitating group activities or individually in CDC's family childcare homes, chapel youth group, youth centers, and teen centers;
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must possess:

  • A Master's Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health-related field;
  • An MS Independent Counseling License, licensed at the independent practice level (LCSW or LPC);
       • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of brief therapy and solution-focused child and youth counseling methods;
       • Proven experience working with children and youth, specializing in child and adolescent development/psychology;
  • The ability to prove US Citizenship;
What We Offer:

JCS Military Support Services, Inc. is proud to offer a competitive salary of approximately $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience, depending on your qualifications and location.
