We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Project Superintendent to join our team at JDM Materials Company. As a Project Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of heavy civil site construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Project Planning and Organization: Work with the Project Manager and Foreman to plan and organize activities related to roadway and site construction projects.
- Scheduling and Budgeting: Schedule the project in logical steps and budget time required to meet deadlines through participation with the Project Manager.
- Client Liaison: Initiate and maintain liaison with owners, general contractors, and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
- Project Representation: Represent JDM Materials Company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings with clients.
- Project Monitoring: Monitor project with the Project Manager to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.
- Financial Management: Review project invoices with the Project Manager in a timely manner to ensure vendor and sub-contractor payments.
- Quality Control and Safety: Assist in the implementation of quality control programs and safety protocols.
- Communication: Properly notify clients of delays due to weather, changes, etc.
- Problem-Solving: Confer with supervisory personnel to ensure all matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction problems are resolved with owners, sub-contractors, vendors, and design professionals.
- Performance Evaluation: Evaluate weekly construction methods and determine cost-effectiveness and discuss any concerns with the Project Manager.
- Reporting: Formulate reports based on marked up plans showing work progress, costs, and scheduling.
- Strong Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Leadership Skills: Strong management skills.
- Business Acumen: Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices.
- Technical Skills: Computer knowledge and efficiency.
- Industry Knowledge: Broad understanding of the construction industry.
- Contractual Knowledge: Familiarity with requirements of drawings and specifications and with terms and conditions of contracts and purchase orders.
- Mathematical Skills: Good math skills.
- Reading Comprehension: Ability to read drawings and specifications.
- Teamwork: Functions effectively as part of a team.
- Discretion and Confidentiality: Exhibits strong leadership qualities and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times.
- Time Management and Organization: Excellent time management and organizational skills.
