Inspector Trainee Position

About the Job:

Crane Aerospace & Electronics is seeking a highly skilled Inspector Trainee to join our team. As an Inspector Trainee, you will be responsible for performing diversified inspection activities, reviewing product test data, and validating acceptance stamps.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create inspection plans in line with manufacturing processes and drawing specifications
• Review product test data for compliance to test specifications and validate with acceptance stamp
• Review respective shipping documents for conformance to contract, purchase orders, and blueprint revisions
• Layout and perform highly diversified experimental and production inspections of various parts/assemblies, tools, fixtures, and measuring equipment
• Prepare and send out raw material samples
• Involves unlimited transfer to NDT/Calibration occupation as required
• Clean and move parts as necessary which are integral to the function the employee is performing
• Perform routine maintenance per Appendix A and appropriate safety checks
• Responsible for product verification and process control including using necessary measuring devices
• Keep charts and records as required on completed sequences and processes
• Document all non-conformances through specified data collection procedures
• Complete all required paperwork
• Insure all material is properly cleaned, identified, protected, and stacked prior to movement
• Work with internal and external customers and suppliers and participate in continuous improvement activities as required
• Complete all required documentation including but not limited to operator inspection records, job routers, NCR's, reject tags, move tickets, and stock tickets
• Utilize computer to access various databases
• Any other task assigned by your supervisor or management

Requirements:

• Experience:

Must have previous CMM experience (new hires only after 5/18/2009) and surface plate inspection experience. Must have completed Inspector Trainee occupation.

Working Conditions:

Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment; Greasy, oil environment. Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE. May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes. Requires prolonged periods of sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and stretching; Requires lifting parts and equipment up to 50 pounds.
