Position Overview:
We are seeking two skilled professionals for an immediate start in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

About the Role:
This role involves caring for infants in a 41-bed NICU with a nurse-to-patient ratio that varies based on acuity, ranging from 1:1 to 1:4. Assignments are assessed every four hours to ensure optimal care.

Key Responsibilities:
Our travelers are expected to:
  • Provide care for stable infants focusing on temperature regulation, oral feeding, and NGT feedings.
  • Assist in transporting infants for various diagnostic studies.
  • Manage infants requiring different forms of respiratory support, including Oscillator, JET, conventional, CPAP, and SiPap.
  • Participate actively in daily multi-disciplinary rounds.
  • Collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals, including attending physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and respiratory therapists.
  • Demonstrate quick decision-making abilities and strong clinical judgment in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exhibit integrity and a commitment to self-reporting any errors or mistakes.
  • Maintain strong assessment skills to ensure high-quality patient care.

Facility Overview:
Our Level IV NICU at Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital is dedicated to providing comprehensive neonatal medical and surgical care for premature infants. Our team utilizes advanced technology to deliver exceptional care across various sub-specialties, including:

Position Requirements:
  • Active state license required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a NICU setting.
  • Guaranteed minimum hours: 36.
