Job Summary

As a Senior Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy department. You will assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, and perform various tasks to maintain the highest level of customer service and product quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist pharmacists in the performance of pharmacy duties, including operating pharmacy systems, processing prescriptions, and coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
  • Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, engaging customers and patients, resolving issues, and answering questions.
  • Develop strong relationships with most valuable customers and maintain a clean, neat, and orderly pharmacy department.
  • Perform duties as assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including reviewing and complying with company policies and procedures.
  • Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities.
  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
  • Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals.
  • Assist and support Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing and seeking to improve pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data.
Requirements
  • PTCB certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Prefer basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Prefer basic level PC skills (for example: start up and shut down computer, use mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save files, print documents, and/or access information on-line).
  • Prefer the knowledge of store inventory control.
