Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Lifeguard to join our team at the City of Burbank, CA. As a Senior Lifeguard, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our municipal swimming pool, ensuring the well-being of our patrons and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the opening and closing of the pool, maintaining sanitary and safe conditions
  • Enforce all rules and regulations, maintaining discipline and ensuring the safety of swimmers
  • Rescue swimmers in distress, render first aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation as needed
  • Train lifeguards and instruct classes in diving, swimming, and lifesaving
  • Organize and conduct swimming meets, aquatic programs, and special events
  • Maintain required attendance, financial records, and reports
  • Prepare staff work schedules and ensure the efficient operation of the pool
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One season's experience as a lifeguard and instructor required
  • Valid California Class C driver's license or equivalent required
  • Valid First Aid Certificate, Water Safety Instructor's Certificate, and Lifeguard Certificate required
  • Valid Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Communicable Disease Certificates required
