Job Summary

Supernal is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to design, deploy, and administer cloud-based solutions in Azure. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Azure services, including compute, storage, networking, and security.

This role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for cloud-based projects. The successful candidate will work with consultants and vendors on projects and/or for additional support.

The Cloud Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing data analytics infrastructure, including Databricks and Snowflake. They will also develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code templates for deploying Azure resources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, deploy, and maintain complex Azure-based infrastructure and solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements for cloud-based projects
  • Manage and optimize data analytics infrastructure (Databricks and Snowflake)
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts and infrastructure as code templates
  • Assist with escalated support related to Azure environment
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Azure-based infrastructure and applications
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Manage and monitor Azure resources
  • Routinely review and suggest improvements to Azure environment
  • Design and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies
  • Act as a mentor to other cloud engineers and provide technical guidance and support

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in IT infrastructure management and engineering, with a focus on Azure
  • Experience with DevOps and CI/CD tools, such as Azure DevOps, Bitbucket, and Jenkins
  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience managing Databricks and Snowflake infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and load balancing
  • Experience with PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Microsoft Azure certifications, such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, are preferred
