Position Overview:
We are in search of a Performance Monitoring Engineer to partner with product teams in identifying the performance-monitoring requirements for approximately 20 applications within our organization. This role involves close collaboration with both the monitoring team and product teams to devise solutions in a structured manner, aligning with our organizational objectives to enhance enterprise monitoring.

As a key liaison between the monitoring team and application teams, you will facilitate effective communication and ensure the smooth integration of performance-monitoring solutions. Your primary responsibility will be to develop and rigorously test Python scripts, ensuring the reliability and robustness of our monitoring solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate proficiency in Python programming, creating efficient and scalable scripts for monitoring tasks.
  • Utilize and refine scripts to automate performance-monitoring processes.
  • Possess familiarity with Selenium to enhance scripting and automation capabilities.
  • Exhibit a solid understanding of network, operating system, application, and endpoint performance to optimize monitoring solutions.
  • Prioritize the integration of monitoring solutions to meet security standards, ensuring system confidentiality and integrity.
  • Maintain strong communication and collaboration skills to effectively convey technical concepts and work with cross-functional teams.
  • Adopt a results-oriented approach, focusing on achieving organizational objectives and improving overall performance-monitoring capabilities.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of six (6) years of experience in software development/engineering in similar programs and contracts.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field; four (4) additional years of software development experience may substitute for a degree.
  • Experience with Python programming and familiarity with web application technologies (e.g., HTML, JavaScript, web servers, and application servers).
  • Availability to work during core hours of 10am-2pm, with exceptions considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • Experience with Selenium, AWS Cloud, Jenkins, and system administration.
  • Familiarity with MicroFocus Business Service Management (BSM) tool suite, including SiteScope and Operations Bridge/Operations Manager I (OMi).
  • Experience with Elastic stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, and Kibana) and Cisco AppDynamics.
  • Knowledge of Ansible or Terraform is a plus.
