Certification Requirements- Must possess a valid WI nursing license or a compact license from the state of permanent residence.
- BLS certification must be obtained through the American Heart Association.
- Ensure that all licenses and certifications are current throughout the assignment duration.
- Submit only candidates who are available for the specified schedule and have a genuine interest in the unit.
- Work collaboratively with a team of skilled nurses, leveraging a wide range of medical and surgical expertise.
- Provide care in a 28-bed unit that emphasizes nurse-led collaboration, catering to a diverse surgical patient demographic.
- Gain valuable experience in airway management, including new tracheostomies, beneficial for those aspiring to critical care roles.
- Support and educate patients undergoing specialized care for complex surgical procedures, including but not limited to Cystectomy, Gender Confirmation Surgery, and Mastectomy with flap reconstruction.
- Experience in tracheostomy and surgical care is mandatory.
- Preferred backgrounds include gynecology, urology, plastic, and colorectal surgery.
- Minimum of two years of acute care experience within the last three years is required.
- Experience in an Academic Level 1 Trauma center or a hospital of similar size is essential.
- Completion of a previous traveler assignment (13 weeks) is necessary.
- Shifts may be assigned across multiple units based on staffing needs.
- If the primary unit's requirements change, shifts will be reassigned to ensure contract fulfillment.
- Basic Arrhythmia experience is required.
- Passing the UW Health Telemetry test is mandatory prior to starting the assignment.
