We are seeking a skilled Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse to join our team as a travel nurse in Fort Wayne, IN. This is an immediate opening, and we require 1-2 years of recent acute care experience.
Job SummaryAs an ICU Travel Nurse, you will be responsible for evaluating and monitoring patients in a high-acuity setting. You will provide direct care to patients in life-threatening situations, documenting and implementing physician-directed care, assessing and implementing patient care plans, and delegating to other care providers as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Provide basic bedside care, including preparing and administering medications, and recording vital signs.
- Order and evaluate diagnostic tests, such as lab work and imaging studies.
- Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, and interpret electronic displays.
- Communicate patients' conditions to family members and provide education and support.
- Perform tasks that require standing, walking, and lifting, up to 50 pounds, with occasional exposure to chemicals or infectious diseases.
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- 2 years of recent acute care experience
- Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment
Please note that this is a travel nurse opportunity, and you will be required to relocate to Fort Wayne, IN for the duration of the assignment.
