Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Oncology Specialty Unit at Carle Health. As an Oncology Nurse Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement evidence-based nursing practices and develop individualized care plans for patients with various types of cancer.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care transitions and optimize patient outcomes.
  • Administer chemotherapy and biotherapy treatments, as well as provide palliative and end-of-life care.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, develop and implement plans of care, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure informed decision-making and promote patient satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Nursing (not high school) and current RN licensure in Illinois.
  • Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Certification within one year of hire.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on empathy and compassion.
