Job Title: Elementary & Middle School Enrichment Instructor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Enrichment Instructor to join our team at Carlsbad Educational Foundation. The successful candidate will have the ability and capacity to teach students a given specialty by immersing them in hands-on enrichment lessons.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach after-school enrichment classes to students in topics including languages, sports, art, performance, cooking, STEM, coding, and/or technology.
  • Develop and facilitate a full syllabus with lesson plans for enrichment activities that meet the needs of the program and students.
  • Manage students' check-in and out of the program and follow all program protocol as instructed.
  • Source and secure materials, track expenses, and submit reimbursements where necessary.
  • Use proper safety protocols for indoor and outdoor settings by clearly defining safety expectations.
  • Have basic knowledge of age-appropriate classroom and behavior management skills.
  • Effectively communicate verbally and in writing information that is critical to the successful operations of the program.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or the equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years instructing students in a classroom, sport, or other educational setting.
  • One year of experience writing and delivering lesson plans.
  • California Department of Justice fingerprint and background clearance required.
  • Criminal Record Certification.
  • Child Abuse Index Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Basic computer skills, including Internet use, email, and typing skills.
  • Working knowledge of communication systems such as telephone and printing systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Curriculum development and teaching skills.
