Key Responsibilities:
  • Radiopharmaceutical Administration:
    • Administer radioactive substances to patients, ensuring accurate dosing and safe handling.
    • Monitor patients during administration, detecting any adverse reactions or complications.
    • Properly dispose of radioactive materials according to safety protocols.
  • Imaging and Diagnostic Procedures:
    • Operate advanced nuclear medicine equipment, including gamma cameras and PET scanners.
    • Perform diagnostic imaging tests to capture detailed images of organs, tissues, and bones.
    • Position patients correctly for optimal imaging results, prioritizing patient comfort and safety.
    • Adjust equipment settings to obtain clear, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Patient Interaction and Preparation:
    • Explain imaging procedures to patients, alleviating concerns and ensuring they understand the process and benefits.
    • Verify patient identity and medical history to ensure proper radiopharmaceutical use and test procedures.
    • Prepare patients for imaging procedures, providing necessary physical support.
  • Image Analysis and Documentation:
    • Review images for diagnostic quality, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
    • Assist physicians and radiologists by providing preliminary image analysis and noting abnormalities.
    • Maintain accurate patient records, adhering to hospital or facility protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Safety:
    • Perform routine maintenance and calibration of nuclear medicine equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
    • Troubleshoot technical issues related to equipment or radiopharmaceuticals.
    • Ensure equipment and facilities meet safety standards, particularly in handling radioactive materials.
    • Follow infection control and radiation safety protocols to minimize risk to patients and staff.
  • Radiation Safety and Compliance:
    • Adhere to safety guidelines regarding radioactive substance use, ensuring patient and staff safety.
    • Monitor and manage radiation exposure to patients, complying with regulatory bodies.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of safety standards and best practices in radiation protection.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team:
    • Work closely with nuclear medicine physicians, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Communicate effectively with the medical team to discuss patient conditions and interpret diagnostic images.
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to review cases and provide input based on imaging results.
  • Patient Care and Follow-up:
    • Provide post-procedure care instructions to patients, offering guidance on hydration and potential side effects.
    • Monitor patients during recovery and assist with immediate medical concerns.
    • Offer information to patients regarding follow-up imaging or treatment required based on their results.
    Compensation and Benefits

We offer an estimated salary range of $140,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience. Additionally, you can expect a tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
