Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Massachusetts General Hospital. As a Per Diem Neonatal Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care to critically ill newborns in our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Special Care Nursery (SCN).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of critically ill newborns in collaboration with an attending neonatologist.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, and treat patients with acute problems.
  • Coordinate patient care, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Participate in professional development and lifelong learning, including resident medical education and training.
  • Collaborate with obstetric, nursing, and NICU medical staff to manage patient flow and determine bed availability and admission destination.
Requirements
  • Professional licensure in Massachusetts with authorization to practice as an APRN.
  • MSN and current NP certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
  • Skills and abilities required include good communication and collaboration skills, good organizational and project management skills, and the ability to set priorities.
