Key Responsibilities- Provide Respiratory Care: Administer all forms of respiratory care and treatment to patients, including ventilation, oxygen therapy, and aerosolized medications.
- Monitor Patient Progress: Continuously monitor patients' oxygen saturation, end tidal CO2, and blood gas analysis to ensure effective treatment.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Team: Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Communicate Effectively: Provide clear and concise communication to patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient care and treatment.
- Maintain Equipment and Supplies: Ensure proper use and functioning of respiratory equipment, including ventilators, oxygen tanks, and aerosol therapy devices.
- Participate in Departmental Functions: Assist with departmental education, orientation of new staff members, and participate in patient care rounds.
- Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
- Licenses and Certifications: RCP, RRT, BCLS, and ACLS certifications.
- Experience: Hospital experience in respiratory care, preferably in an inpatient setting.
