Basketball Coach

The Greater Peoria Family YMCA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sports Instructor to lead our basketball programs for children and teens. As a Basketball Specialist, you will be responsible for creating a fun and engaging environment that promotes physical activity, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

• Develop and implement basketball programs for children and teens, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Lead group and individual coaching sessions, providing positive feedback and encouragement to participants.
• Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive sports program.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all participants, adhering to YMCA policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with participants, parents, and staff to ensure a positive and supportive experience.

• 2+ years of experience in sports instruction, coaching, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with children and teens of varying skill levels and abilities.
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
