Chess Instructor

Job Summary

Chess Wizards is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Chess Tutor to join our after-school enrichment program. As a Chess Tutor, you will be responsible for teaching children the game of chess and helping them develop their problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Teach chess classes to children aged 5-12
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to promote learning and fun
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
• Collaborate with other Chess Wizards staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in chess education

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of chess rules and strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with children of varying skill levels and learning styles
• Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
• USCF rating is a plus
