As a vital member of the Butler Medical Transport/Best Care Ambulance team, the Paramedic plays a crucial role in delivering medical assistance during both emergency and non-emergency transport situations. This position involves evaluating patients' health status, providing advanced life support, and ensuring safe transportation to healthcare facilities for further medical intervention. Paramedics are essential to the healthcare framework, delivering critical care in urgent situations and significantly influencing patient outcomes. The Paramedic role necessitates outstanding leadership skills, extensive training, and the ability to think swiftly, show empathy, and collaborate effectively with a team to provide prompt and efficient pre-hospital care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional patient care in accordance with Paramedic practice standards
  • Guide and mentor EMT and AEMT team members
  • Respond to both emergency and non-emergency transport requests
  • Facilitate clear communication with patients, dispatch, team members, family, and healthcare facility staff
  • Utilize communication devices effectively, including portable radios, mobile phones, and tablets
  • Complete patient contact documentation before the end of each shift
  • Ensure vehicles and equipment are maintained for readiness
  • Keep the station clean and organized
  • Maintain certifications through timely completion of refresher courses and continuing medical education (CMEs)
  • Stay updated on all state protocols, policies, and procedures
  • Represent Butler Medical Transport/Best Care Ambulance at assigned community events
Qualifications and Educational Background:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum age of 19 at the time of hiring for insurance compliance
  • Successful completion of National Registry Paramedic certification
  • Current National Registry Paramedic and State Paramedic certification (or ability to obtain within 10 days of hiring)
  • Current AHA BLS CPR certification or ability to obtain within 10 days of hiring
  • Current AHA ACLS CPR certification or ability to obtain within 10 days of hiring
  • Current AHA PALS CPR certification or ability to obtain within 10 days of hiring
  • Familiarity with pumps, ventilators, and monitors used in emergency medical services
  • Capability to provide quality patient care within the defined scope of practice
  • Knowledge of state protocols applicable to Paramedics
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
  • Ability to operate company vehicles
  • Successful completion of a state-sponsored EVOC course or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Ability to pass a physical lift test
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background investigation
  • Proficiency in speaking and writing English
