Food Services Director

Far Rockaway Center is seeking a highly skilled Food Services Director to join our team in Far Rockaway, NY.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, assign, and inspect the work of Food Service Staff to ensure high-quality food preparation and presentation.
- Schedule and assign staff to meet the needs of our residents and facility.
- Supervise the storage and care of food and supplies to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Oversee the cleaning of the kitchen, storage, dining areas, and equipment to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Inspect Residents' trays for consistency with the specified menu and make adjustments as needed.
- May be requested to assist on the tray line at mealtimes to ensure efficient service.
- Coordinate and plan food preparation activities for special events to enhance the dining experience.
- Order and purchase food and supplies to meet the needs of our residents and facility.
- Provide training and orientation to new staff members to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
- CDM certification is required.
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Service experience in Long-Term Care settings is strongly preferred.
- SERV Safe or Sodexo certification is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of large-scale and therapeutic food preparation.
- Solid leadership and supervisory skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work as a team member.
