Cupertino, California, United States Gridmatic Full time
Job Title: Fullstack Software Engineer - Clean Energy Transformation

About Gridmatic: Gridmatic Inc. is a high-growth startup accelerating the clean energy transition by applying data, machine learning, and energy expertise to power markets. We value teamwork, continuous learning, diversity, and inclusion.

The Role: We're seeking a foundational full-stack engineer to drive Gridmatic's initiative to transform the way companies decarbonize their energy supply. You'll work closely with the Cupertino-based ML team on integrating long-term forecasting and the Houston-based team to scale up the business.

Responsibilities:

* Build the end-to-end platform to help make this possible
* Work across the stack with Python, React, Postgres, BigQuery, Kubernetes, and GCP
* Help build industry-first innovations to the clean energy space

What You'll Work On:

* Building the web frontend for customers to visualize and analyze their clean energy usage
* Building internal tools to allow us to do complex energy contract pricing based on AI forecasting
* Building the data infrastructure to allow us to balance our clean energy resources against customer usage

Requirements:

* 3+ years of software engineering experience
* Previous startup work experience
* Built new products from scratch, from spec to design and implementation
* Proficient in both backend and frontend work
* Proficient in building scalable web applications on cloud infrastructure
* Proficient working with relational databases and data warehouses
* Experience with Python/React, or similar technologies

Compensation: $169,000 - $218,000 a year

FAQ:

* What's your policy on remote work?

We value the ability to work and collaborate in-person in our early stage as a startup, so Gridmatic has a hybrid policy of '50% in-office'. Most of the company works in our Cupertino office 2 or 3 days a week.

* How does the interview process work?

We start with 1-2 initial conversations about the role, your past experience, and Gridmatic as a company. We then have a skills assessment which involves a take-home project; if that goes well, you'd come onsite to Cupertino to talk to the team.
