Work Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM OR 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Qualifications for the Recreation Coordinator Role:

  • Background in recreation or a related field (Human Services) is preferred.
  • Experience working with senior populations is preferred.

Key Responsibilities as a Recreation Coordinator:

  • Facilitates and organizes life-enriching activities, emphasizing resident-preferred options.
  • Designs, coordinates, and leads both group and individualized programs that are age-appropriate, catering to residents who may remain in their rooms or those with varying functional levels, in compliance with Federal and State regulations.
  • Encourages and supports residents in engaging with community life as they desire.
  • Plans and accompanies residents on outings outside of Messiah Lifeways, collaborating with the Transportation Coordinator for travel arrangements.
  • Assists in dining settings, fostering opportunities for social interaction.
  • Transports and/or aids residents in attending programs.
  • Ensures the safety and well-being of residents while participating in all activities.
