We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Redwire Space. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in the development of high-quality solutions for small satellite programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply an interdisciplinary approach to plan, design, develop, and verify a lifecycle-balanced system of systems and system solutions.
  • Serve as a focal point for technical issues and functions, and coordinate between engineering teams.
  • Evaluate customer and operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters/algorithms, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional, and program interfaces.
  • Create, track, and maintain requirements in Jama Tool.
  • Perform various analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
  • Lead the resolution of technical issues with other SMEs and product teams.
  • Mentor Systems Engineering Team.
  • Support design/development of test tooling (simulation, models, report/analysis tools, EGSE) for SW and HW testing.
  • Write technical policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Support business development efforts for proposals/bids.

Ideal Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Systems, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field is required, and a minimum of 16-18 years' experience in a broad background in systems engineering.
  • Experience leading the development of space systems for challenging environments and missions.
  • Experience with MBSE (Model-Based System Engineering).
  • Experience with NASA/DoD lifecycle reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).
  • Experience with requirement tracking tools such as DOORs, Jama, Cradle.
  • US citizenship is required, with the ability to obtain a security clearance.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with configuration management practices.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interface with the team and organization and prioritize tasks, projects, and personnel from a variety of disciplines.
  • Possesses a broad background in systems engineering.
  • Experience using software tools for performing complex analyses (Excel, MatLab, custom tools).

Pay Range: $175,000 to $220,000

Compensation Philosophy: Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
