Program Director

Stratford University is seeking a visionary leader to direct its nursing programs. As the Director of Nursing, you will provide strategic leadership and vision for the University's nursing programs, including strategic planning, program innovation, program outcome evaluation, and operational management.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide campus-specific functional oversight of the University's nursing programs
- Develop and implement innovative nursing curricula that meet the needs of the industry
- Oversee admissions to the nursing program and develop affiliation agreements with hospitals and other providers
- Foster excellence in research, teaching, and practice among nursing faculty and students
- Attract, mentor, and retain students and faculty members
- Guide curriculum development to meet the evolving needs of the industry
- Ensure all activities related to the accreditation/reaccreditation of nursing programs meet or exceed standards
- Manage faculty, including evaluations, appointments, compliance, and discipline
- Provide leadership in exploring, recommending, and evaluating emerging nursing curriculum
- Effectively address the academic concerns of students and faculty
- Optimize nursing degree programs to meet the needs of the industry
- Keep the Campus Dean informed and State Program Director aware of operational and other activities in the department
- Champion teaching, mentoring, and enabling students to achieve their education and career goals
- Serve on committees to ensure faculty voices are heard in local decision-making
- Participate in maintaining courses and programs curriculum that is current to meet the needs of the communities we serve and local businesses who hire our graduates
- Contribute to the advancement of innovation in the classroom
- Enjoy interacting with people and have a strong work ethic
- Know the definition of empathy and utilize it when appropriate
- Be intuitive and have a proactive approach to serving others
- Articulate the role of the School of Nursing in a major university serving the broader community
- Be poised, positive, outgoing, and have a professional demeanor
- Demonstrate integrity, honesty, teamwork, and genuine commitment to education
- Terminal degree required; PhD in Nursing preferred; MSN with EdD will be considered
- Unencumbered license as a RN
- Teaching experience at the baccalaureate level
- Significant management and leadership experience in a university with demonstrated ability to lead academic programs
- Record of successful working relationships with internal and external constituencies
- Community service experience
