The Master Cake Artist and Bakery Innovator will play a vital role in driving member satisfaction in their area, delivering more of what members love at a lower cost. They will collaborate with other associates to ensure the total club meets the member's expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Be a Team Member: The Master Cake Artist and Bakery Innovator will collaborate with cross-functional teams and assist in educating other associates on tools, tasks, and resources. They will develop interpersonal skills to provide excellent customer service, be flexible to the business's needs, maintain in-stock levels, and control shrinkage.
  2. Be an Expert: This role involves planning bakery productions, ensuring consistency in quality and accuracy of bakery decorative designs, following recipe measurement instructions, and working with a variety of products to create decorative flowers and lettering on bakery items. The Master Cake Artist and Bakery Innovator must ensure adherence to food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, cold chain compliance, and inventory management. They will operate, maintain, and sanitize equipment and demonstrate an understanding of product and layout execution.
  3. Be a Techie: The Master Cake Artist and Bakery Innovator will leverage digital tools to drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. They will use handheld technology to make immediate business decisions related to production, merchandise ordering, training, and product quality with the member in mind. This role requires adapting to new tools and encouraging others to use them.
  4. Be an Owner: The Master Cake Artist and Bakery Innovator will drive the performance of the bakery area, ensuring quality and date control standards. They will eliminate waste, prepare for seasonal events that impact the bakery volume, identify member needs, assist members with purchasing decisions, and resolve member issues and concerns.
  5. Be a Talent Ambassador: This role involves being a brand advocate by valuing the member's experience in Bakery and modeling high-quality service and products. The Master Cake Artist and Bakery Innovator will interact with associates to understand roadblocks and assist in training. They will develop, influence, and inspire associates to work in a respectful, supportive, and team-oriented style.
  6. Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans, using the Open Door Policy, and applying these in executing business processes and practices.
  7. Complete work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners, identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations, carrying out tasks, communicating progress and information, determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities, and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

The hourly wage for this position is $18.50 to $24.75, with additional compensation in the form of premiums ranging from $0.50 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 6 months' experience in a fresh production area.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • The candidate must acknowledge that the position requires successfully completing all job-required trainings and assessments within a prescribed time period if they receive the position.
